MISSION AND VISION STATEMENTS

 

The mission of Temple Shalom is to be a center of Jewish life in the

Tri-County area (Lake, Marion and Sumter Counties) of Central Florida. We are an inclusive Reform congregation that offers a warm welcome and nurturing home to all who seek a meaningful and enduring connection to Judaism.

 

Our Vision:

• To build upon our tradition of welcoming Jews of all backgrounds, ages and levels of observance, including interfaith couples and families.

• To provide meaningful worship and celebration of Shabbat, holidays, festivals and life-cycle events, enriched by musical participation.

• To be the Tri-County leader in providing opportunities for social, cultural, recreational and educational interaction in a friendly Jewish environment.

• To enjoy and learn Jewish traditions in a comfortable setting.

• To be committed to a sound fiscal policy based on the needs and desires of our congregants.

• To be committed to volunteerism as the bloodline of our congregation.

• To be committed to social justice through events that make a meaningful impact on our local community and beyond.
